Fardian
(b.1995, Denpasar) He is a composer and performer from Bali, Indonesia. He completed his studies at Institut Seni Indonesia Denpasar, earning a Bachelor of music and a Master of Arts program. He is a doctoral candidate at the same university under the advisor of professors I Wayan Rai S., M.A. (2021-2024) and I Wayan Sudirana, Ph.D., two famous Indonesian ethnomusicologists and Balinese Gamelan composers.
He is interested in exploring electronic/electro-acoustic music works based on the sounds of Indonesian instruments, such as the Kecapi. His unique creative method involves elaborating acoustic instruments with audio processing computer devices such as Ableton, Max/MSP, and Push devices. This process results in new and captivating colors of traditional music that other artists have not fully explored.
